Infosys, a prominent IT firm in India, is under fire for alleged delays in onboarding over 2,000 campus recruits. The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has filed a complaint with the Ministry of Labour & Employment, demanding an investigation into the matter.
According to NITES president Harpreet Singh Saluja, many recruits have been waiting for onboarding for more than two years, causing financial strain and uncertainty. These recruits turned down other job offers based on Infosys’s promises, only to be left in limbo.
Saluja highlighted the emotional toll the delay has taken on the recruits, stating that Infosys’s actions have shattered their trust. NITES has put forth demands for full salary payments, mental health support, and efforts to find alternative job opportunities within Infosys.
The Ministry’s intervention is seen as crucial to protect the interests and careers of these young professionals, with Saluja urging swift action. Infosys is yet to respond to the allegations, emphasizing the need for transparent and timely onboarding practices for employee well-being.
