Women laborers in Viman Nagar recently received a boost in health and hygiene awareness thanks to a workshop organized by Ismaili CIVIC. The event, held in collaboration with the Aga Khan Health Board for Pune, Robinhood Army, and Lunkad Developers, aimed to empower women workers with crucial knowledge on maintaining their well-being in hazardous environments.
The workshop, which took place at the Labour Camp in Sakore Nagar, addressed the unique challenges faced by the 45 women attendees, including young girls aged 8 to 20 years. Topics covered included preventive measures for respiratory ailments, sanitation and hygiene practices, waste disposal, household cleanliness, and the importance of clean drinking water and food.
The president of the Ismaili Council for Pune commended the efforts of all volunteers and organizing partners, emphasizing the importance of initiatives like this for underserved groups. The workshop also included medical screenings conducted by qualified doctors, providing essential health assessments for the women.
