1. After months of complaints about deteriorating infrastructure in Pune’s Hinjewadi IT Park, the Forum For IT Employees (FITE) has announced a breakthrough. Thanks to the intervention of IT professionals, the MIDC has ordered the repair of potholes on the Mhalunge-Hinjawadi road within 15 days.
  2. The initiative comes after weeks of IT employees sharing videos on social media highlighting the poor road conditions worsened by ongoing Metro construction. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has now begun filling potholes along the Metro route, which runs through the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park employing over four lakh people.
  3. The road conditions, worsened by the Metro construction, have led to frequent accidents and severe waterlogging during monsoon seasons. Contractors involved in the Metro project have been instructed to repair all potholes within a week, with around 50% already fixed.
  4. Chief engineer of PMRDA confirmed that remaining repairs are being prioritized, thanks to the collective efforts of IT employees and social media advocacy. The long-overdue infrastructure improvements in Hinjewadi IT Park are finally underway.
