Hey there, Pune peeps! The Women’s Department of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) in Pune has kicked off a month-long campaign called ‘Morality is Freedom’. The main aim of this campaign is to educate people on what true freedom really means and how it is connected to morality.

During a recent press conference at the Patrakar Bhavan, Asiya Shaikh, the City Incharge of JIH Women’s Department Pune, highlighted the need for this campaign in light of the rising incidents of sexual violence and homicide against women and girls across the country. She emphasized that true freedom is not restricted by morality but is actually enhanced by it. When society upholds moral values, women can feel more confident and safe in public spaces.

Aisha Vaseem, the PR Secretary of JIH Pune Women’s Department, pointed out that the decline of moral values has led to a mindset of violence against women, which is spreading like an epidemic. This lack of moral values contributes to harassment, exploitation, and various forms of abuse against women.

Meenaz Shaikh, the Media Secretary of JIH Pune Women’s Department, highlighted the alarming statistics from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) which show a steady increase in crimes against women. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of building a moral and just society to combat these crimes effectively.

As part of the ‘Morality is Freedom’ campaign, awareness programs will be organized at various levels, including national, state, district, and regional levels. The focus will be on educating students, youth, and the general public about true freedom and moral values. The campaign also plans to involve scholars from different religions to promote common moral values in public discourse.

So, let’s all come together and support this important campaign to create a safer and more respectful society for everyone, regardless of gender, religion, or background. Let’s make morality our key to freedom!
