    In a joint effort to tackle the growing traffic issues in Wagholi, officials from various government agencies came together for an inspection yesterday evening. The team, which included representatives from Pune Police, PMRDA, PWD, MSEDCL, PMC, and MLA Ashok Pawar, discussed several measures to alleviate the congestion in the area.

    Among the solutions proposed were the development of a bypass road, the relocation of Kesnand Phata Chowk, and ensuring that private travel buses do not disrupt traffic flow. The team also identified the rampant wrong-way traffic from Wagheshwar Mandir Chowk as a major concern and proposed various improvements to address this issue.

  3. Immediate Action Needed

    Despite promises from officials in the past, residents of Wagholi continue to face traffic woes on a daily basis. Additional Commissioner of Police, Manoj Patil, emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that approximately one and a half lakh vehicles pass through the Pune-Ahmednagar highway every day.

  4. Call for Cooperation

    MLA Ashok Pawar urged officials from PMRDA, PMC, and PWD to expedite the necessary work to alleviate the traffic burden in Wagholi. Patil also instructed the Lonikand Traffic Branch to take immediate action to prevent private travel buses and dumpers from adding to the congestion.

    With the cooperation of all stakeholders, including government agencies and local authorities, the hope is that the traffic situation in Wagholi can be improved. The development of bypass roads and other necessary measures will be key in addressing the growing traffic stress in the area.
