It has been 15 long years since the tragic Naina Pujari rape and murder case shocked the city of Pune and the entire state of Maharashtra. Despite promises of fast-track justice, the family of Naina Pujari is still waiting for closure. Abhijit Pujari, Naina’s husband, expressed his disappointment at the slow progress of the case and the delay in the execution of the accused.

Naina Pujari, a hardworking employee at a software company, was abducted by cab drivers on 6th October 2009. She was subjected to a brutal gang rape and her lifeless body was found two days later. The heinous crime sent shockwaves through the community and prompted calls for swift justice.

Nine years after the incident, the accused were finally sentenced to death by the Pune Court. However, their legal team filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, prolonging the agony for the Pujari family. Abhijit Pujari spoke out about their ongoing struggle, saying, “We are doing everything we can to ensure that the perpetrators face the consequences of their actions, but it seems like justice is slipping through our fingers.”

As the Pujari family continues to wait for the final verdict, the memory of Naina Pujari lives on as a reminder of the importance of seeking justice for victims of heinous crimes.
