Pune, known for its rich culture and artistic community, received high praise from Mohol for being a city that has always supported artists. He spoke highly of the new ‘Kalagram’ space, which will provide a platform for artists to showcase their work and engage with the public. This addition is expected to further elevate Pune’s art scene and attract more tourists to the city.
MLA Madhuri Misal expressed her excitement over the completion of Kalagram, which marks the realization of a long-standing vision to develop the entire 50-acre area along Sinhagad Road. She also announced plans for a dedicated space called ‘P. L. Deshpande Katta’ to honor the legendary artist and showcase his life and works.
Kalagram boasts a diverse range of cultural offerings, including handmade bamboo and stone items, folk art from different states, and a variety of traditional foods for visitors to enjoy. The area is designed to resemble a village setting, with 30 stalls, an amphitheater, a library, and open spaces for workshops and events.
The event was kicked off by Rajendra Bhosale, with Milind Kulkarni taking on the role of anchor for the proceedings. The launch of Kalagram promises to be a significant milestone for Pune’s cultural scene and is set to become a hub for artists and art enthusiasts alike.
