Hey there, Khadki residents! Get ready to hop on the Metro train soon because the Khadki Metro station is finally set to open by the end of January. After facing numerous delays, the station is now on track to welcome passengers in just a couple of months.
While the PCMC-to-Civil Court Metro stretch has been up and running for a while now, the Khadki station lagged behind due to various challenges. But fear not, Maha Metro officials are confident that the remaining construction work will be completed in no time.
A spokesperson for Maha Metro mentioned, “We’ve been making great progress lately. The entry and exit points near Khadki railway station are almost finished, and we’re working hard to open the station to the public as soon as possible.”
The delays were mainly caused by land acquisition issues that required coordination among different government bodies. However, after overcoming these hurdles, work on the station has picked up pace.
In addition to the Metro station progress, PMC has been busy widening roads near the old Mumbai-Pune highway outside the station. This means that the stretch between Khadki and Bopodi, which had been limited to one-way traffic, is now open for two-way traffic once again.
A PMC official assured, “The roadwork and other pending tasks will be completed soon, so get ready to enjoy smoother commutes in the near future.”
So, Khadki folks, mark your calendars and get ready for a more convenient and efficient commute with the upcoming Khadki Metro station opening soon!
