The K Raheja Circle area in Kondhwa is facing a growing issue with stray dogs, leading to four recent dog bite incidents that have raised concerns among residents. To address this, a meeting was held at the circle with the participation of around 40 residents, including social worker Ashok Mehendale and PMC Health Inspector Navnath Shelar.
During the meeting, residents discussed the dangers of feeding stray dogs and highlighted the need for immediate action to ensure the safety of the community. Other concerns raised included unauthorized pigeon feeding, lack of police patrolling leading to open-air drinking and drug-related activities, and the need for enhanced security measures like CCTV surveillance.
Key resolutions from the meeting included the deployment of a dog-catching van for a month, monitoring and prevention efforts by the PMC Health Department, sterilization and vaccination programs for stray dogs, awareness campaigns to discourage pigeon feeding, and regular road cleanliness initiatives.
Residents expressed gratitude for the guidance provided by Health Inspector Rajesh Shelar and emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing these challenges effectively. Prominent individuals in attendance included Imtiaz Naikwadi, Shyam Gangwani, Tarun Ramchandani, and others.
With the promise of swift and humane action by the PMC, residents are hopeful for a safer and cleaner neighborhood. Cooperation between authorities and citizens will be crucial for the successful implementation of the proposed measures.
