Hey Pune peeps, exciting news coming your way! The long-awaited solution to the land acquisition issue for the two-storey flyover at Acharya Anand Rishiji Chowk has finally arrived. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has confirmed that they will be acquiring additional land from the Progressive Education Society’s (PES) Modern College to construct the ramp, with plans for it to be ready within the next three months.

A recent meeting involving key officials such as PMC Road Department Head Aniruddha Pawaskar and PMRDA Chief Engineer Rinaj Pathan, among others, sealed the deal. PES Society’s Working President Dr. Gajanan Ekbote also gave the green light for the land acquisition process and compensation details to be finalized.

Approximately 4,000 square feet of land from PES Modern College will be used for the ramp, including areas currently occupied by the botanical garden, canteen, and classrooms. But don’t worry, the botanical garden’s precious plant species will be safely transplanted to another location within the college premises, and the high-voltage power line running through the college will be relocated as well.

The Municipal Corporation is wasting no time and will immediately kick off work on widening the road and installing iron barriers for the ramp. And the best part? The whole project is expected to be completed within just three months, providing much-needed relief from the traffic congestion near Savitribai Phule Pune University.

So, get ready to say goodbye to those traffic jams, Pune! The ramp is on its way to make your commute a whole lot smoother.
