Manorama Khedkar, the mother of trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, is currently facing a slew of legal challenges that have put her in the spotlight. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar recently issued a show cause notice to Manorama regarding her gun license, which was left unclaimed, forcing the police to post it outside her residence.

The notice demands that Manorama Khedkar provide an explanation within 10 days as to why her gun license should not be revoked. This action stems from a case registered under the Arms Act by Pune Rural Police, where a local farmer accused Manorama of making threats.

Adding to her legal troubles, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has also served Manorama Khedkar a notice for encroaching on PMC-owned land near her home in Aundh. The notice highlights a structure along the boundary wall that is encroaching onto road space, posing safety concerns for citizens.

A viral video from 2023 showing Manorama Khedkar allegedly brandishing a gun and threatening individuals in a land dispute with farmers has resulted in an FIR being filed against her under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.

Pune Rural Police confirmed, “The Police have registered an FIR against Manorama Khedkar and others, including Dilip Khedkar, based on a complaint from a local farmer.” The FIR includes charges related to threats and violations under the Arms Act.

This legal turmoil surrounding Manorama Khedkar has brought increased scrutiny to Pooja Khedkar’s family, with controversies surrounding her mother drawing national attention as investigations continue. The situation remains ongoing as more details emerge.
