Leopard attacks continue to be a cause for concern in the Junnar Division, with recent incidents leaving residents on edge. Deputy Conservator of Forests Amol Satpute stated that a woman may have been attacked by a leopard while in a sugarcane field, prompting officials to set up trap cages and increase patrolling efforts.

In a separate incident, a 60-year-old man named Ankush Kharde was injured in a leopard attack while working in his fields. Despite being taken to the hospital for treatment, he is said to be out of danger.

Forest officials believe that the recent attacks in Jambut and Kanhur Mesai are unlikely to be the work of the same leopard. Unfortunately, these incidents are not isolated, with several other attacks reported in the region this year, including the tragic deaths of young children and adults.

In response to the ongoing conflicts, the forest department issued a red alert for 13 villages in Junnar taluka, advising residents to take precautions for their safety. With human-leopard encounters becoming more frequent, it is clear that measures need to be taken to protect both wildlife and residents in the area.
