Residents of Wagholi were left in shock after a leopard made a second appearance in the area, near the Decathlon Sports store. The big cat was first spotted four days ago in the Bhadale Wasti area where it attacked sheep.

This morning, the leopard was seen once again near the Decathlon store, causing panic among locals. Security guards were able to capture footage of the animal on their mobile phones as it prowled around the vicinity. The presence of such a dangerous predator in a residential area like Wagholi has raised concerns among residents.

Officials from the Pune Division of the Maharashtra Forest Department rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the sighting. They discovered multiple leopard footprints during their inspection, confirming the presence of the animal in the area.

In response to the growing fear among residents, calls have been made for the installation of a cage to capture the leopard. Dnyaneshwar Shivale of the Forest Department confirmed the presence of leopard prints and assured that measures are being taken to track the animal’s movements. The department plans to set up cameras to monitor the leopard before installing a cage, pending necessary approvals.

In the meantime, citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any further sightings of the leopard to the authorities. The safety of the residents of Wagholi is of utmost importance, and efforts are being made to ensure their protection from the potentially dangerous animal.
