In a shocking incident in Wanawadi, a school van driver has been arrested for sexually abusing a minor girl. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reacted strongly to the news, alleging that some local leaders helped the accused driver escape.

Fadnavis emphasized that there is no place for politics in such incidents, stating, "An accused is an accused at the end of the day. Strict action will be taken against him, as well as against those who aided his escape."

The accused driver, identified as Sanjay Jeting Reddy, has been booked under the POCSO Act. The victim’s father took action after his daughter disclosed the incident, where the driver allegedly touched her inappropriately and did the same with her friend.

Fadnavis also highlighted the importance of school transport safety, urging institution owners to update details about van and bus drivers and other staff members.

In response to Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao’s statement about Veer Savarkar, Fadnavis criticized the Congress for frequently insulting Savarkar, who emphasized the importance of the cow in his writings. Fadnavis noted that Congress leaders are following this trend, without mentioning specific sources.
