Exciting news for Pune residents as the Maan-Hinjewadi Metro project is set to begin trial runs soon! The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is overseeing the final preparations for the metro line, which will connect Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar.

With three metro coaches already on site for testing and the fourth one expected to arrive by March 2025, the project is well on its way to completion. The Maan-Hinjewadi Metro line is the third corridor connecting Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, all of which are elevated and pass over key landmarks such as the Pune-Bengaluru highway and the Mula River.

While stations like Baner, Sakal Nagar, and Civil Court are still under construction, progress on the project is moving quickly. Currently, 82% of the work has been completed, and the trial run is expected to happen in the near future.

Despite some delays in the project, the PMRDA is pushing forward to ensure the metro service begins as soon as possible. Chief Engineer, Rinaz Pathan, emphasized that critical work is still pending, which is why a six-month extension has been granted to the contractor. The new target completion date is October 2025.

Pune residents can look forward to a more efficient and convenient mode of transportation with the Maan-Hinjewadi Metro line in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
