MahaMetro has recently opened up bids for the DDC-03 package, with a whopping estimated budget of around 2.36 crore. Three bidders threw their hats in the ring by submitting technical bids by the end of August. After a thorough evaluation process, SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) and STUP-RITES JV emerged as the qualified bidders, while LKT Engineering FP Project Management JV unfortunately missed the mark and were disqualified.
The DDC-03 package includes the development of new stations, including the Vanaz Chandni Chowk Extension with 2 stations (Kothrud Bus Depot and Chandni Chowk) and the Ramwadi Wagholi Extension with 11 stations (Viman Nagar, Somnath Nagar, Kharadi Bypass, Tulaja Bhavani, Ubale Nagar, Upper Kharadi Road, Wagheshwar Temple, Wagholi, Siddharth Nagar, Bakori Phata, and Vitthalwadi). These stations have all been meticulously planned out for the future, with the possibility of adjustments to their locations once satellite imagery becomes available in 2026.
This contract is a significant milestone as it is the third and final design consultancy award for Pune Metro’s Phase 1 Extension project. Previous contracts include DDC-01 for the design of three elevated stations at Chinchwad, Akurdi, and Nigdi, awarded to LKT Engineering, and DDC-02R for architectural and electrical & mechanical (E&M) services and proof checking for the Swargate to Katraj corridor, awarded to PINI Group.
The future of Pune Metro looks bright with these developments on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!
