Hey there Pune peeps! The Maha Yuti government is making some big moves in the lead up to the State Assembly polls, and one of the hot topics right now is the Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana. But here’s the kicker – the state coffers are looking pretty empty.

To raise funds for the Ladki Bahin Yojana, the State Government is introducing a stamp duty of Rs 500 for document registration, up from the previous Rs 100-200. Looks like they’re cutting back on other welfare schemes to make this one happen.

And speaking of funds, the state government is in a bit of a pickle with their loan burden piling up. They’ve even gone knocking on the Reserve Bank of India’s door, asking for a loan of Rs 3,000 crore. Yikes!

But hey, it seems like the Ladki Bahin Yojana is pretty popular, with a whopping 2.52 crore applications received so far. Of those, 2.41 crore have been approved, and over 1.85 crore women are currently benefiting from the scheme. That’s a hefty Rs 3,620 crore needed for distribution every month, totaling up to a staggering Rs 43,440 crore annually.

Looks like the government has their work cut out for them. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
