Shravan Somwar, a significant day for the people of Maharashtra, was celebrated with great fervor today as it marked the last Shravan Somwar of the year. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with his family and Thane MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, visited the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga to offer prayers on this auspicious day.

Despite facing adverse weather conditions, including thick fog and rain, CM Shinde managed to reach Bhimashankar after making an emergency landing in Landewadi, Bhosari, approximately 100 km away. The temple authorities, led by Deputy Executive Trustee Madhukar Gawande, conducted prayers in the presence of all the Brahmins of Bhimashankar.

During the visit, temple president Suresh Kaudare suggested the construction of bathing facilities near Gyanvapi Kund for the convenience of devotees. CM Shinde assured that all necessary facilities for the devotees visiting Bhimashankar would be provided by the government.

CM Shinde highlighted the various welfare schemes being implemented in Maharashtra, including Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana 2024 and Free Higher Education for Girls Scheme. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Maharashtra and the blessings of Bhimashankar, stating his desire to visit again as Chief Minister next Shravan.

When asked about future visits, CM Shinde affirmed that he would continue to visit Bhimashankar and fulfill all demands raised by the trustees and villagers. He also mentioned that former MP Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil would always be by his side wherever he goes.
