Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Shirur today – John Deere India Private Limited is in hot water with the Maharashtra Forest Department for allegedly cutting trees without replanting them. Yikes!

It all started when a concerned citizen, Kapil Shinde from Pune, raised the alarm with the Forest Department on August 27th. The department wasted no time and sent a notice to John Deere on September 5th, demanding an explanation.

According to the notice, John Deere had permission to cut down 510 trees, with a promise to replant 236 of them. However, it seems like that promise wasn’t kept. When officials from the Forest Department visited the site today, they found evidence of limb trees being cut down and not replanted.

To make matters worse, it turns out that some of these limb trees were home to eggs and nests. The horror! The Forest Department has scheduled a meeting with John Deere on September 9th to hear their side of the story. If they don’t show up, it looks like they could be in big trouble under The Wildlife (Protection) Act of 1972.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story. Let’s hope John Deere comes clean and takes responsibility for their actions!
