Hey Pune folks, get ready to grab your umbrellas because this year the state has been drenched in heavy rain! Between 1 June and 4 September, a whopping 29 per cent more rain than the average has been recorded, totaling 1,093 mm of rain.

Nagar and Sangli districts have been the real winners in the rainfall game, with Nagar soaking up 79 per cent more rain than average, recording 581 mm of rain, while Sangli has received 72 per cent more rain than average, totaling 628 mm.

But it’s not just these two districts that have been blessed with rain this year. Jalgaon, Pune, Beed, and Latur have all seen more than 50 per cent of average rainfall, with Pune recording 55 per cent more rain than average.

However, not all districts have been as lucky. Hingoli has seen 31 per cent below-average rainfall, with only 447 mm of rain recorded compared to the average of 647.5 mm. And Amravati and Gondia have also seen less rain than usual, with two per cent and eight per cent less rain respectively.

So, while some districts are swimming in rainwater, others are left feeling a bit dry. Let’s hope the rain gods continue to shower us with blessings throughout the season!
