Hey there, Pune folks! Looks like there’s been some drama surrounding the water supply in the city recently. Allegations were flying around that power supply interruptions were causing disruptions to various PMC water schemes. But hold up, the plot thickens!

MSEDCL, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, decided to set the record straight. They investigated PMC’s claims and found that the power supply to these water schemes has actually been pretty consistent, even during the heavy rains we saw in July and August.

It turns out that any power disruptions were actually due to maintenance work carried out by PMC themselves. One example they pointed out was the Parvati Water Purification Center, where power was cut for internal electrical repairs that PMC was responsible for.

MSEDCL also made sure to mention that they had provided high-pressure power connections to PMC for both the Parvati and Tukai Nagar water supply schemes, which are super important for Pune’s water supply. They even listed out specific instances of power outages at these locations, all due to PMC’s maintenance work.

And get this – MSEDCL reported that they’ve been in constant communication with district officials via email and WhatsApp to ensure smooth power supply to these water schemes. They’re not messing around!

So, it looks like PMC’s claims about power supply disruptions being MSEDCL’s fault were a bit off the mark. The disruptions were actually due to PMC’s own maintenance and repairs. Looks like the water supply saga in Pune is a lot more complicated than we thought! Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
