Hey there, Pune peeps! Have you heard the latest buzz about the Maharashtra State Public Works Department (PWD)? They just rolled out a cool new digital tool called the Pothole Complaint Redressal System (PCRS) that lets you report those annoying road craters directly to the authorities. No more dodging potholes like a pro, now you can actually do something about them!

The app covers a whopping 1.18 lakh km of state highways, so you can bet your bottom dollar that your complaint won’t go unnoticed. And get this – officials have to fix reported potholes within a mere 72-hour timeframe. Talk about speedy service!

According to a top PWD honcho, they’ve already received 138 complaints in the first week alone, and a whopping 49 of those have been sorted out. Looks like this new system is already making waves!

All you need to do is hop onto the PWD website, download the app, and use GPS technology to pinpoint the exact location of the pothole. You can even upload photos to really drive your point home.

Under the new rules, junior engineers have to tackle pothole complaints within 72 hours, while their deputy counterparts get an extra 24 hours to wrap things up. And if they drop the ball, the big boss – the executive engineer – will swoop in and maybe even slap them with a show-cause notice for slacking off.

So far, Amravati is leading the pack with 62 complaints, closely followed by Pune with 58. Other regions like Konkan, Nashik, Nagpur, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar have had fewer than five complaints each.

Come November, the PWD will kick off some serious monitoring to come up with long-term fixes for the state’s road troubles. So buckle up, Pune, smoother rides are on the horizon!
