Hey there, folks! Here’s the latest scoop from Nana Peth – Pune Police has nabbed Somnath Gaikwad, the prime suspect in the murder of former NCP corporator Vanraj Andekar. The arrest went down on Monday night, along with the apprehension of co-conspirators Sanjeevani Jayant Komkar (Andekar’s sister) and Prakash Komkar (his nephew).

The gruesome incident unfolded on Sunday night at Andekar Chowk, where Andekar was ambushed by a gang of over 12 assailants on bikes. They let loose five shots at him and slashed him with a sharp weapon, suspected to be a ‘Koyta.’ Sadly, Andekar couldn’t survive the brutal attack.

Word on the street is that the murder stems from a heated family and property dispute. Five suspects, including Andekar’s brother-in-law and brother, have been rounded up so far. The Komkars are cooling their heels in police custody till August 9.

A total of fifteen individuals have been slapped with charges in this case, and the cops are leaving no stone unturned in their probe. The shocking incident has rattled the Nana Peth community, as the Andekar family has wielded considerable clout in the area for quite some time.
