The tragic incident of a man taking his own life in Pune’s Wagholi area has sparked a conversation about the demand for Maratha reservation. Prasad Dethe, a resident of Wagholi and native of Solapur, expressed his despair on social media before committing suicide. He had been working as a security guard in a private company and leaves behind a wife and two daughters, as well as a son.

In a note addressed to Maratha Reservation Activists, Dethe highlighted the challenges faced by the Maratha community, including unemployment. He called for reservation under the OBC quota and urged prominent figures such as Pankaja Tai, Bhujbal Saheb, and others to grant this request. The letter also mentioned Jarange Saheb, emphasizing the importance of not giving up until reservation is achieved.

The heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the struggles faced by many in the Maratha community and the urgent need for action to address their concerns. Our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of Prasad Dethe during this difficult time.
