Hey there, folks! Have you heard about the latest news coming out of Pune? Well, let me fill you in on the details of a recent arrest that has everyone talking.
So, here’s the scoop – a man named Suryawanshi Nitin Balaji from Latur district was nabbed by a joint operation between the Military Intelligence (MI) of the Army’s Southern Command and Pune Police. This guy was allegedly running a fake Army recruitment racket, targeting unsuspecting candidates from Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Apparently, Suryawanshi was charging a hefty fee of ₹3 lakh per candidate, raking in an estimated ₹10 to ₹15 lakh through his fraudulent scheme. One brave soul from Nanded district stepped forward and lodged a complaint against him after shelling out ₹1.75 lakh in hopes of securing a spot in the Army.
This aspiring recruit, who hails from a farming background, met Suryawanshi at Latur railway station, where the conman spun tales of Army service and promised him a spot in the forces. To seal the deal, the victim handed over the cash and made UPI transactions near the Southern Command headquarters. But alas, the promises turned out to be empty, and the calls went unanswered.
Thankfully, the Military Intelligence unit and Pune Police were on the case. After receiving intel on Suryawanshi’s shady dealings, they swooped in and made the arrest. An FIR has been filed under various sections of the law, and investigations are underway to uncover more victims who fell prey to this scam.
So, dear readers, let this be a lesson to all aspiring Army recruits out there – always double-check and follow official recruitment channels to avoid getting duped by fraudsters like Suryawanshi. Stay safe and stay vigilant, folks!
