Pune’s Bopodi area is currently facing a number of challenges, with traffic congestion, unplanned development work, and garbage management issues being at the forefront. However, independent candidate Manish Anand, who is running for the Chhatrapati Shivajinagar Assembly Constituency, has promised to tackle these issues head-on and ensure the planned development of Bopodi.
During a recent foot march in the Aundh Road and Bhau Patil Road areas of Bopodi, Anand spoke to citizens about his vision for the area. He highlighted specific problem areas such as Dr. Ambedkar Nagar and Chavan Vasti, which are plagued by traffic jams and improper garbage disposal. Anand pledged to work closely with traffic police and municipal authorities to come up with effective solutions for these issues.
Anand also criticized the recent construction of a bridge near Spicer College, which has cost the administration a significant amount of money but remains unused. He emphasized the importance of proper planning and feasibility studies before undertaking such projects, to avoid wasting public funds in the future. Anand vowed to push for a planned development framework for Bopodi that will be approved by the state government, in order to prevent similar instances of unplanned development in the future.
