The recent murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district of Maharashtra has caused outrage across the nation, leading to a massive protest march in Pune today. The Maratha community came together for the “Janakrosh Morcha,” demanding the death penalty for the accused in this case and the murder of Somnath Suryavanshi in Parbhani.
Starting from Lal Mahal, the march made its way through various city routes before ending at the District Collector’s Office. Traffic on several key roads was rerouted to accommodate the protest. Prominent figures like MLA Suresh Dhas and MP Bajrang Sonawane, as well as members of the Deshmukh family, joined the march to demand swift and strict action against the perpetrators.
Protesters carried banners and chanted slogans calling for justice for the victims. The community leaders reiterated their demands for the death penalty for those involved in the murders of Deshmukh and Suryavanshi, as well as the registration of a murder case against Valmik Karad.
The incidents in Beed and Parbhani have deeply affected the Maratha community, leading to a strong push for stricter action against such crimes. While authorities have yet to respond to the protesters’ demands, the rally showcased the community’s unity and resolve in seeking justice for the victims.
