Hey there folks, exciting news coming your way from western Maharashtra! A whopping 1091 MW solar power project has just been launched to provide sustainable daytime electricity to agriculture in the region. And that’s not all – there’s a plan to establish a total of 1991 MW of solar power facilities across Pune, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, and Kolhapur districts in its initial phase.

Under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0, the Maharashtra State Government is on a mission to ensure daytime electricity supply to agriculture through 710 substations in western Maharashtra. The ultimate goal? To generate a massive 5915 MW of solar power, with over 7669 acres of government land already acquired for the cause.

This initiative is a game-changer for thousands of farmers in the region, who have long been waiting for sustainable electricity for their agricultural operations. With the first phase focusing on establishing 1991 MW of solar capacity across 276 substations, it’s clear that big changes are on the horizon.

In the first phase alone, Pune district is set to receive 429 MW across 54 substations, while Solapur will see a whopping 867 MW across 98 substations. Construction is already underway, with approximately 6000 full-time and 13000 part-time jobs expected to be created in the process.

Overall, these solar power projects are not just about meeting the demand for daytime electricity – they’re also about providing subsidies to gram panchayats, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing public amenities across the state. It’s an exciting time for renewable energy in Maharashtra, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on the region!
