In a shocking turn of events following the Kalyani Nagar Porsche accident involving a minor, it has come to light that the blood samples taken from the accused were swapped with those of another individual. This alarming discovery has prompted swift action from the Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER).

Commissioner Rajeev Nivatkar has wasted no time in ordering an inquiry into the matter and has put together a three-member committee to investigate further. Leading the committee is Dr. Pallavi Saple, the Dean of Grant Government Medical College and Sir J. J. Group of Hospitals in Mumbai. Joining her are Dr. Gajanan Chavan, a Professor of Forensic Medicine at the same institution, and Dr. Sudhir Chaudhari, a Special Duty Officer at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Government Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital.

The committee is set to visit B.J. Government Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital on 28th May to conduct a thorough investigation. They will carefully examine all relevant documents and present their findings and recommendations to the Directorate of Medical Education.

Furthermore, the Medical Education Department has requested a report from Dr. Vinayak Kale, the Dean of Sassoon General Hospital, regarding the suspension of the officers involved in the incident. It is expected that Dr. Ajay Taware, CMO Dr. Shrihari Holnur, and Atul Ghatkamble will face suspension based on this report.

This investigation was sparked by the disturbing revelation that the blood samples of the minor accused were switched with those of another person before being sent for testing at the Forensic Science Lab (FSL). This breach in protocol has raised serious concerns about the integrity and accountability of the medical and forensic departments.
