As we head into the new week, Maharashtra is set to experience a slight warming trend with night temperatures expected to rise by 2-3°C starting Monday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes this change to southeasterly winds bringing moisture into the region, along with the influence of a low-pressure system near the Tamil Nadu coast.
Current Weather Conditions show that Jalgaon recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature at 8.9°C on Friday, with Pune’s Shivajinagar area reporting 12.6°C and Lohegaon at 15.3°C. These cool nights are expected to continue through the weekend with little variation.
IMD forecasts clear skies for Pune and neighboring regions in the coming days, ensuring dry weather without significant rainfall.
According to IMD Pune scientist S.D. Sanap, the anticipated temperature rise is due to southeasterly winds bringing moisture and the influence of a low-pressure system near Tamil Nadu. While this will lead to a warming effect, it is not expected to bring any rainfall.
For Pune, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 13°C on Sunday night and rise to about 15°C by Tuesday night, offering some relief from the current chill.
In the Konkan region, Alibag recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 34.8°C on Friday, indicating warmer conditions in the area. However, rainfall is unlikely with this weather pattern.
The warming trend provides relief from the cold as we transition into December, offering stable weather for outdoor activities and agricultural operations. Residents can expect slightly warmer nights from Monday onward, with clear skies and no rain forecasted.
