Hey there, folks! Today we’ve got some juicy news coming out of Pune, Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) is cracking down on two doctors, Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Halnore, for allegedly tampering with blood samples in a hit-and-run case involving a minor. Yikes!

The MMC has wasted no time in taking action, issuing notices to both doctors and demanding a written explanation within seven days. Dr. Taware and Dr. Halnore, who work at Sassoon Hospital, have been remanded to police custody until May 30. Looks like they’re in hot water!

But wait, it gets even juicier. It turns out that Atul Ghatakamble, a peon at Sassoon Hospital, was acting as a go-between for Dr. Taware, helping with the shady money exchanges in the tampering scheme. Ghatakamble has also been thrown in the slammer.

Dr. Vinki Rughwani, the head honcho at the MMC, is not impressed with the behavior of these two doctors. He’s worried that their actions are dragging the medical profession’s name through the mud and violating ethical standards. The MMC is taking this seriously, folks!

Dr. Rughwani mentioned that the MMC has the power to suspend a doctor’s license if they’re found to be breaking medical ethics. The council is digging deep into this whole mess before deciding on what punishment to dish out.

The investigation has revealed that Ghatakamble was the money man in this operation, handling the financial transactions for Dr. Taware. He got a chunk of cash from an unknown source, and even passed on Rs 2.5 lakh to Dr. Halnore. The Pune police’s crime branch is on the case, trying to recover the dirty money.

This scandal came to light when it was discovered that the blood samples of a minor involved in the Kalyani Nagar accident had been tampered with. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
