With the Maharashtra assembly elections fast approaching, the Maharashtratil Navnirman Sena (MNS) is leaving no stone unturned in their preparations. The party has initiated an in-depth survey of all eight Vidhan Sabha seats in Pune, showcasing their strategic planning and assessment for the upcoming electoral battle.

Having previously supported the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha, the MNS is now weighing their options on whether to align with the Mahayuti coalition or go solo in the assembly elections. Despite this decision still pending, the party has already kicked off extensive surveys across over 200 seats in Maharashtra. Rajendra alias Babu Wagaskar, a prominent MNS leader, has confirmed that all eight constituencies in Pune are included in this survey.

Looking back at the 2019 Assembly Elections, the MNS faced setbacks in Pune after contesting five constituencies. To improve their chances this time around, the party has enlisted the help of a private organization to conduct detailed surveys tailored to each constituency. The initial report has been submitted, with the next report expected next month. These findings will inform MNS state office bearers in their visits to each constituency, where they will meet local representatives and compile reports on potential candidates from rival political parties.

In Pune district alone, the MNS is focusing on evaluating 21 seats, with key attention on constituencies like Kothrud, Kasba, Hadapsar, Wadgaon Sheri, Cantonment, and Khadakwasla. Interestingly, the party is also screening candidates for the Parvati assembly constituency, leading to speculation about surprise nominations from unconventional political backgrounds.

As the MNS deliberates on candidate nominations and electoral strategies, the party’s future prospects in Pune remain uncertain. The decision-making process will heavily rely on upcoming survey reports and local dynamics, as they aim to maximize their electoral chances in Pune’s diverse political landscape.
