The residents of Mohammadwadi in Pune are currently facing a multitude of challenges, with overflowing drainage and poorly constructed roads adding to their daily woes and safety concerns. Key areas such as the Axis ATM at S M Ghule circle, Backstage Lounge, Tribeca Mall to S M Ghule chowk, and SM Ghule chowk to Raheja Premiere are particularly affected.

Social worker Jaymala Dhankikar has spoken out about the severity of the situation, criticizing the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for neglecting residents despite receiving substantial taxes. She has called for an urgent allocation of Rs 100 crore for the development of road and drainage infrastructure to address the public health risks posed by the overflowing drainages.

Resident Daljeet Goraya from Ganga Kingston has expressed frustration with the PMC’s approach to road construction during the monsoon season. He highlighted the unnecessary traffic congestion and safety concerns caused by the slow progress and improper dumping of heavy concrete. Goraya demanded adherence to the Development Plan (DP) for systematic road development and criticized the PMC for its inefficiency and disregard for residents’ concerns.

Overall, the residents of Mohammadwadi are calling for immediate action from the authorities to address the pressing issues of drainage and road infrastructure to ensure their safety and well-being.
