Get ready to grab your umbrellas, folks, because the meteorological department has some news for us! Heavy rainfall is on the horizon for Maharashtra in the month of August. Konkan and parts of central Maharashtra are bracing for some serious downpours between August 1 and 3, while Vidarbha has been put on yellow alert. However, it looks like most parts of Marathwada will only be experiencing light showers.

It seems like July was a wet month for most of the state, except for poor Marathwada. And it looks like August is shaping up to be more of the same. The rain is expected to start on July 31 and continue into the first week of August. Keep an eye out for heavy rain in Konkan and central Maharashtra, especially in the mountainous areas of Pune and Kolhapur.

The weather forecast department isn’t messing around, either. They’ve issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for Thane (August 3), Raigad (August 1-3), Ratnagiri (August 1-3), Sindhudurg (August 2-3), Kolhapur (August 1-3), Satara (August 1-3), Chandrapur (August 2), Gadchiroli (August 2), and Gondiya (August 2). And let’s not forget the ‘Yellow Alert’ that’s been issued for several other areas, including Mumbai, Nashik, Pune, and more.

So, stay safe out there, Pune! Looks like we’re in for a wet and wild ride this August.
