The much-awaited monsoon has finally made its way to Maharashtra, bringing relief to residents from the scorching heat. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has confirmed that the monsoon has entered the Konkan region and is moving towards Ratnagiri and Solapur. Mumbai is anticipated to receive its first monsoon showers around June 9-10.

As the monsoon progresses, the IMD has forecasted that it will advance across India in the coming days, although it may weaken from next week. While the west coast is expected to receive significant rainfall, other areas may experience reduced rainfall.

Delhi, which has been experiencing intense heat and heat waves, can expect the monsoon to arrive by the end of June. Last year, the monsoon reached Delhi on June 25, providing relief to residents. The arrival of monsoon rains is likely to bring relief to Delhi-NCR residents who have been experiencing some respite from the heat recently.

In Himachal Pradesh, the IMD predicts that the monsoon will reach the state around June 20. Despite the incoming monsoon, several states are still facing heat waves. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand, where temperatures are expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius today.

Residents in these regions are advised to take precautions to stay cool and hydrated as they await the arrival of the monsoon rains. Stay tuned for further updates from the IMD as the monsoon progresses across the country.
