The recent heavy rains in Pune have exposed serious infrastructural issues in the city, with many homes and streets flooded. Despite claims of preparedness by the administration, the reality on the ground paints a different picture.

Member of Parliament Supriya Sule visited affected areas and expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the situation. She highlighted the construction of roads over drains and improper diversion of drainage systems as major causes of the flooding. Sule demanded action against responsible officials and contractors and called for immediate assistance to affected residents.

Sule urged the state government to prioritize Pune’s infrastructure needs and announced her intention to write to the Chief Minister for prompt action. She also warned the municipal administration that protests would be staged if drainage systems were not cleaned within eight days.

The situation in Pune remains critical, and residents are looking to the authorities for swift and effective solutions to prevent future flooding incidents.
