The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has cracked down on ASK Chemicals Company in Pune for flouting environmental regulations. The company, located in the Kurkumbh Industrial Area, was found guilty of violating norms related to air and water pollution. Following complaints, MPCB officials conducted an inspection and discovered several regulatory breaches. Despite warnings, ASK Chemicals failed to comply with pollution control norms, leading to a notice to cease production.

ASK Chemicals had stored raw materials from Melzer Chemical Pvt Ltd without permission and allowed the company to store materials on its land without the necessary approvals. The company continued production even after its permission expired on 31st May 2024. The notice from the MPCB prohibits ASK Chemicals from resuming production without further approval, with potential legal action if non-compliance occurs. The MPCB has also instructed relevant departments to cut off the company’s electricity and water supply.
