Hey Pune peeps, big news coming your way! The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is gearing up for the Bhoomipujan of the proposed Ring Road in Pune before the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections. This move is aimed at ensuring that the project kicks off smoothly before the code of conduct for the elections comes into effect. Talk about strategic planning, right?

So, what’s the deal with this Ring Road project, you ask? Well, buckle up because it’s a massive 172 km, 110-meter wide project that aims to tackle the pesky issue of traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The project is divided into East and West sections, with the Eastern route passing through Maval, Khed, and Haveli, while the Western route will impact Bhor, Purandar, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval talukas.

Land acquisition seems to be in full swing, with 31 out of 34 villages on the Western route already acquired, totaling a whopping 644 hectares. The Maharashtra State Government has allocated some serious cash for this project, with Rs. 2975 crores already disbursed for the Western route and Rs. 10,519 crores allocated for the Eastern route in the interim budget. HUDCO has also chipped in with a cool Rs. 10,000 crores for the Western route land acquisition. Talk about big bucks!

The Pune District Administration seems to be on top of things, with land acquisition in Khed and Haveli talukas already finalized. Minor acquisitions are still pending for a couple of villages on the Western route, but things are moving along smoothly. Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase is keeping a close eye on the progress, with completion expected by July. Looks like Pune is in for some major infrastructure development, folks!

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project. Till then, keep calm and drive on!
