1. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde recently announced that a 40-kilometer section of the ring road in Pune has been transferred to the MSRDC for further development. This move is expected to improve transportation infrastructure in the city.
  2. Progress on the detailed project report and land acquisition proposal for the PMRDA’s ring road is going well, according to Shinde. Despite the PMRDA being established eight years ago, projects like the metro, ring road, and town planning schemes are still in progress.
  3. The PMRDA is currently working on six town planning schemes, with the metro line from Maan-Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar already under construction. The Mhalunge-Maan town planning scheme number one received administrative approval in 2018, with a budget of ₹616.90 crores.
  4. To expedite development, the PMRDA is deploying experienced officers on deputation and appointing experts and consultants for necessary projects. GIS-based technology is also being utilized for efficient project management.
  5. The MSRDC requires a total of 1,653 hectares of land for the ring road, with 72 percent of the required land already acquired. The MSRDC is investing around ₹10,500 crores in the construction of the Pune Ring Road, overcoming challenges in acquiring private, government, and forest land.

    Overall, the development of the ring road and other infrastructure projects in Pune is progressing well, with significant investments and efforts being made to enhance the city’s transportation network.
