Pune witnessed a massive influx of devotees at Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar during the auspicious month of Shravan, with the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) stepping up to meet the demand. MSRTC deployed extra buses from various depots in Pune, including Swargate, Shivajinagar, and Khed, to cater to the 415,500 devotees who traveled to the Jyotirlinga.

Mondays were particularly busy, with devotees from North India also making the journey to Bhimashankar. To ensure seamless travel, MSRTC ran additional buses from Pune City to Bhimashankar, as well as designated specific routes from Narayangaon and Rajgurunagar. In total, 163 buses were deployed from different depots in Pune, with a total of 9,883 extra bus trips made during the month of Shravan.

The income generated by MSRTC from Pune to Bhimashankar during Shravan was impressive, with the numbers looking like this:
– First Monday: Passengers – 53,067, Income – ₹10,30,880
– Second Monday: Passengers – 76,084, Income – ₹16,17,927
– Third Monday: Passengers – 96,017, Income – ₹19,52,808
– Fourth Monday: Passengers – 82,920, Income – ₹14,06,355
– Fifth Monday: Passengers – 54,323, Income – ₹7,14,185

The extra buses not only made the journey convenient for devotees but also proved to be a lucrative venture for MSRTC, with a total income of ₹77.40 lakh generated during the month of Shravan. The seamless transportation provided by MSRTC played a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for all the devotees visiting Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar.
