- MSRTC Going Green: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is taking a step towards sustainability by planning to introduce 5,000 e-buses to its fleet. This eco-friendly initiative will be implemented in phases, with 200 e-buses set to be added to the MSRTC Pune division. These electric buses will be known as ‘e-Shivai’.
- Pune Gets on Board: The MSRTC has already rolled out e-bus services on various routes, connecting Pune with Nagar, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Ahmednagar, Nashik, Kolhapur, and Solapur. Commuters in Pune can now enjoy a greener and more sustainable mode of transportation.
- Charging Ahead: To support the growing fleet of e-buses, work has commenced on electric charging stations at the Alandi, Dapodi, Indapur, and Manchar ST depots. As more e-buses are integrated into the MSRTC network, additional charging stations will be established to ensure seamless operations.
- A Greener Future: By embracing electric buses and investing in charging infrastructure, the MSRTC is setting a positive example for other public transportation systems. This move not only reduces carbon emissions but also promotes cleaner air and a healthier environment for all. Stay tuned for more updates on MSRTC’s green initiatives!
