Hey there, folks! Here’s some exciting news for all you Judo enthusiasts out there. Minister Chandrakant Patil has promised to open a Judo Players’ Excellence Centre in Sangli, in collaboration with the Punit Balan Group and support from the Maharashtra Judo Association. How cool is that?
During the inauguration of the National Judo Tournaments for the Cadet category, Punit Balan requested Minister Patil to set up the Excellence Centre, and guess what? The Minister immediately announced its establishment. Talk about quick action!
In addition to this fantastic news, Punit Balan also announced cash prizes for the winners in the National Judo Competitions. Winners in the cadet category will receive cash awards of Rs 5 lakh, with Rs 11,000 for the Gold Medallist, Rs 7,000 for the Silver Medallist, and Rs 5,000 each for the two Bronze Medallists in each weight category for boys and girls. How’s that for motivation?
The competitions, which are being held in Pune from January 23 to 25, have seen the participation of 600 players, trainers, umpires, and officials. It’s great to see so many people coming together to support and promote the sport of Judo.
Special recognition was also given to Hembati Nag, who hails from a remote tribal area in Chhattisgarh and has overcome numerous challenges to excel in Judo. She was felicitated by Minister Chandrakant Patil for her outstanding achievements.
