Hey Pune folks, here’s some news for you! The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently made a ruling against a developer who failed to complete construction of a project in Wanawadi. The company, Goyal Properties, was directed to refund money to flat buyers who had paid 95% of the amount for their flats. However, the developer did not comply with the order and the NCDRC took serious note of this.
The complainants, Abraham Aron, Bracha Aron, Spencer Joseph Gormnalli and Breda Gormanalli, had booked flats in Ganga Sampatti and were promised possession by December 2011. However, only 80% of the construction was completed within the agreed period. The NCDRC ruled in favor of the complainants and directed the company partners to pay the remaining amount before the next hearing.
Goyal Properties returned 50% of the amount but sought extensions twice to return the rest. The NCDRC members, Justice Sudip Ahluwalia and Rohit Kumar Singh, were not pleased with this and ordered that if the company directors, Anuj Goel and Ankit Goel, do not return the remaining amount, they should personally appear before the commission. Stay tuned for more updates on this story!
