The Ganpati Festival is in full swing in Pune, with devotees from all over the country and even from abroad flocking to the city to celebrate. The first Ganpati mandal in Hindustan, Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Trust, kicked off the festivities with the installation of their Ganpati idol at Varad Vighneshwar Wada. The atmosphere was filled with chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ and traditional music like Dhol-Tasha and Sanai-Choughada.
Famous singer Kailash Kher performed the installation puja and delighted the crowd with some of his hit songs. The celebrations continued with performances by transgenders’ team Shikhandi and appearances by celebrities like Sameer Pathak, Ajaybua Ramdasi, and Isha Talwar.
The following days saw more rituals and Aartis, with notable figures like NCP (SP) State President Jayant Patil and Olympic Bronze medal winner Swapnil Kusale taking part. The festivities were a mix of tradition and modernity, with a focus on devotion and community spirit.
