The Maharashtra Police Mega City (MPMC) Corporation project in Pune has received a much-needed boost with a ₹600 crore investment from a Netherlands-based semi-government organization. The project, which had been stalled since 2016 due to financial constraints, is now set to be completed, providing housing for police personnel in the Lohgaon area.
The investment agreement was signed between Atal Consulting and MPMC officials at a ceremony held at Hotel Hyatt Regency in Pune. The event was attended by key stakeholders, including Shrihan Batle, Managing Director of Atal Consulting Netherlands, and Anil Kumar Kuppa, Project Manager of Atal Consulting India.
Ambar Ayade, head of Rural Enhancers, played a crucial role in securing funding for the project and working with the state government to attract foreign investment. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also played a key role in facilitating the investment, ensuring that police personnel who had already paid ₹270 crore for their homes will finally see the project completed.
The MPMC project, which consists of 5,248 homes and 160 shops for police personnel, has been a long-awaited initiative. With this new investment, the project is now back on track, providing relief to police personnel and their families.
Devendra Fadnavis expressed his delight on social media, stating that he is pleased that Rural Enhancers has secured the investment for the project. Kaustubh Dhavse, Joint Secretary and the State Government’s FDI Chief, also expressed confidence that the necessary formalities will be completed to ensure the project’s timely completion.
Bharat Kumar Rane, chairman of the Maharashtra Police Mega City Corporation, welcomed the investment and expressed satisfaction that efforts are being made to allocate homes to all flat owners at their original prices. With this significant investment, the MPMC project is set to become a reality, providing much-needed housing for police personnel in Pune.
