Hey there Pune peeps, have you heard the latest news about the PMP buses? Well, get ready to say goodbye to those long trips to fill up on CNG because new stations are being constructed at Swargate and Nigdi depots!
This is a game changer for the 200 buses in the PMP fleet, as they will no longer have to make those unnecessary trips to other depots just to fill up. And guess what? This project is expected to save a whopping 20 thousand kilometres in distance for the buses, meaning you’ll be getting to your destination on time without any delays.
Thanks to the approval from PESO, the CNG supply will be handled by MNGL and the pipelines are soon to be laid on the roads leading to the depots. This means more buses on the roads, more trips, and happier passengers.
Currently, 110 buses from Swargate and 90 buses from Nigdi depots have to make those extra trips to get CNG, but not for long. With the completion of this project in the next couple of months, those empty trips will be a thing of the past.
And the good news doesn’t stop there. The PMP administration is looking to add CNG facilities to 8 more depots in addition to the 5 already equipped. This means even more cost savings and improved bus services for the people of Pune.
Nitin Narvekar, Joint Managing Director of PMP, is optimistic about the future, stating that the new CNG stations will be operational soon and will greatly enhance passenger service. So get ready, Pune, because smoother bus rides are just around the corner!
