The new Integrated Terminal Building at Pune Airport is set to revolutionize the passenger experience with its state-of-the-art facilities. Today, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, officially inaugurated the new terminal, which will accommodate two airlines, Air India and Air India Express, initially.

Passengers flying on the inaugural flights, Air India Flight AI-858 to Delhi and Air India Express Flight I5-320 to Bhubaneswar, were greeted by Minister Mohol himself as he handed out boarding passes. The remaining airlines operating at Pune Airport will gradually transition to the new terminal in the coming days.

Spanning over 52,000 sq. m., the new terminal building has a capacity to handle 9 million passengers per year, making it equipped to handle the growing air traffic in the region. With five additional passenger boarding bridges and a total of ten, passengers can expect a seamless transition from the terminal to the aircraft. Additionally, the terminal features 34 check-in counters and 25 self-check-in counters to expedite the check-in process for travelers.

Designed to be eco-friendly, the new terminal has received a Four-Star GRIHA rating and offers plenty of space for food and beverage outlets as well as retail shops, ensuring passengers have access to refreshments and shopping options. The terminal is also equipped with an In-Line Hold Baggage Handling System (ILHBS) for enhanced security screening and a more efficient check-in process.

Overall, the new terminal at Pune Airport promises to provide a modern and convenient travel experience for passengers, setting a new standard for airport facilities in the region.
