Hey Pune peeps! Big news coming your way regarding the Swargate-Katraj Metro route project. Maha Metro has decided to make some changes to the proposed route to make your commute even more convenient. But wait for it – this decision will come with a cost increase of Rs 200 crore-Rs 300 crore.

The Swargate-Katraj route is getting a makeover as the Pimpri-Swargate route is already up and running. PM Narendra Modi even did the bhumi-pujan online for this new route after the Civil Court to Swargate underground route was inaugurated.

Initially, the Swargate-Katraj route was supposed to have three stations, but now a fourth one has been added at Balaji Nagar due to public demand. The PMC has given the green light for this new station, which means there will now be four Metro stations on the route.

This new station at Balaji Nagar will benefit commuters from areas like Dhankawadi. The PMC has agreed to provide the land for the station, but Maha Metro will be footing the bill for its construction.

The distance between the Padmavati and Katraj stations was a bit too long at 1.9 km, so Maha Metro decided to build the new station to bridge the gap. The total length of the Swargate-Katraj route will be 5.463 km with a whopping Rs 2,954.53 crore funds allocated for its construction.

So get ready, Puneites! Your Metro commute is about to get a whole lot easier and more efficient with these new changes on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
