Pune, a bustling city in Maharashtra, is set to receive a power boost with the construction of two new substations. The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has given the green light for these new facilities in Bavdhan and Lavale.

The 132/22 KV Extra High Voltage Substation at Knowledge City in Lavale will cater to around 65,000 consumers in the area, ensuring a steady power supply. On the other hand, the 220/22 KV Extra High Voltage Substation in Bavdhan will benefit approximately 95,000 consumers in the region.

Rajendra Pawar, the Chief Engineer of the Pune Circle at MSEDCL, highlighted the significance of these new substations in meeting the energy needs of over 160,000 consumers. This move is part of MSEDCL’s strategic expansion plans to enhance power infrastructure in Pune.

With plans for 21 new substations in the pipeline, MSEDCL is committed to addressing the growing energy demands in the region. The recent installations in Charholi, Moshi, Tathwade, Bavdhan, and Lavale, along with the upcoming installation of two 50 MVA power transformers in Bhosari, demonstrate the utility’s commitment to improving power supply for residents across Pune.
