If you’ve ever landed at Pune’s city airport and struggled to find your cab in the chaos of the pickup point, you might soon be in luck. A new system is being introduced at the AeroMall cab pickup point that aims to make the process smoother for passengers. Ola has agreed to implement an OTP/PIN-based system, similar to what Uber is already using at the airport.

According to YS Rajput, Vice President of the AeroMall Authority, this new system will be implemented for Ola Prime and Ola Prime Plus segments, which make up a significant portion of airport bookings. The goal is to reduce crowding and improve order at the cab pickup point, making the experience more efficient for both passengers and drivers.

Passengers will now receive a PIN number upon booking a cab, which they can provide to the driver upon boarding. Once the driver enters the PIN into their app, the destination will be displayed, streamlining the process for everyone involved.

The AeroMall Authority is in talks with other cab aggregators to extend this system to all segments at Pune airport, with plans to roll it out more broadly in the near future. Keep an eye out for these changes on your next trip to the airport, and be sure to provide your feedback on the new system to help improve the overall experience for all travelers.
